Deep Bottom Rifle Range Patcham

The range was established in 1911 and used by the Canadian Army in World War 2 and the Territorial Army up until 1984.

In the 1930's the building was added.

In 2003 Patcham Pistol and Rifle Club made the range it's home until 2020 when covid forced closure. Unfortunately the club and range did not reopen.

We can proudly announce that the range is to reopen and Patcham 1911 Rifle and pistol Club will be calling the range home.

Patcham 1911 Rifle and Pistol Club

We are very proud to announce the opening of the club in early October 2026.

Whilst we have ambitious plans for the club and range, these will take time.

Initially, we hope a short period, we can only have a intake of FAC holders only. We hope to be able to make this far more inclusive in the very near future.

As we await home office approval we will be running as a private club. Once this has been granted we will be opening the club and range to guests, juniors and new members without a FAC and that we will be able to train non FAC holders.

Due to the metric system not being adopted by the UK in 1911 we will be shooting .22 at 25, 50, 100 yards.

With interest we will be shooting Pistol calibre Rifles and Pistols on selected days and times with notice to members. Suitable firearms would be under leavers and bolt action rifles as well as pistols in pistol calibre .38, .357, .44, .45.

Zero will checked at 25 or 50 yards before moving to 100 yards

Our Immediate priority is to establish a well -run safe and sustainable club by developing the membership. To make improvements to the range and facilities where required as funds allow.

The long term intention is to develop Patcham Range creating a secure future for the site and a facility that can support both our members and potentially other clubs in the community such as archery and air rifles.

We will supply tea and coffee and if the need is warranted we will look at a hot food menu in the future

Shooting will commence at 10am and finish at 3pm twice a month on Saturdays and twice a month on Sundays. This may increase with demand.

We have many plans and will grow and expand as need dictates.

Membership Secretary - Charlie Martyn
